Ice Cycles was a joint venture of the Ice Capades and Shipstad and Johnson Ice Follies. Through a connection at the skating club Charlotte was introduced to the manager of the Ice Cycles skating show. Thus, began her lifelong passion for figure skating.Īfter high school Charlotte worked in retail in Chicago and was a member of the Chicago Skating Club. When Charlotte was four her father took her to Arrington Lagoon, in Evanston Illinois, to teach her how to ice skate.

While in high school she sang in various choral groups and participated in school sponsored variety shows. She was born in Providence RI on Maand resided there until the age of four when her family moved to Evanston Ill.Ĭhar grew up in Evanston Ill, attending local public schools and graduating from Evanston Township High School, where she was known as Polly. Charlotte was the second daughter of Ruth Grant Morgan Tilden and Laurence Stiness Tilden. It's spelled funny because in French, J'aime means 'I love.' Ms A's parents thought that was cool, and so does she, even though people spell it wrong a lot.A new ice-skating rink has opened for Charlotte Tilden Hoecker (Char). A's first name is spelled Jaime, which looks like the Spanish name Haime but is pronounced Jay-me. Some of her favorite choral composers are Jim Papoulis, Matthew Harris, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. She enjoys repertoire from around the world, particularly folk songs, musicals, and contemporary classical works. She has sung with the National Philharmonic Chorale, the Western Wind Workshop, and is the former Mary Wolfman Epstein Conducting Fellow with the Zamir Chorale. She started singing at Solomon Schechter Day School, continued at Evanston Township High School and Interlochen Arts Camp, then finally started her own choir in college, sang in the Madrigals and Chorus, and ran the Band at at Brown University.

A is originally from Evanston, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She is certified in both music and drama. Alberts has a master's degree in music education from The Boston Conservatory and a bachelor's degree in public policy from Brown University.

She also directs the Newton All City Honors Chorus: Troubadours, teaches 7th and 8th grade general music, 6th and 8th grade drama, co-directs the Bigelow drama after-school program, and is the faculty advisor to Freshman Cabaret at Newton North High School. Jaime Alberts is the director of the Bigelow Choruses.
